Dreamscapes

Dreamscapes are imaginary places of my mind. They capture an atmospheric, sensual expression of timelessness and contemplation experienced while in nature. I work with the qualities of light and depth, imagination and reality, to create a dreamlike scene resting between stillness and motion.

Reflections

Reflections began with the concept of trees reflected in the river at a park in northern California and transformed into a way of expressing the reflective and philosophical quality of nature through the recursive characteristics it creates.

Colorfields

Colorfields are inspired by colors’ ability to transport me to a transcendent state where reality and immateriality merge. Each painting has an entry point into immeasurable existence beyond the constraints of the canvas that expresses my inner perception of the ethereal.

Transitions

Transitions have long steady meditative brushstrokes, used to create multiple horizons and subtle transitions between colors. The first horizon line I put down is the impulse for the entire painting. While painting I love seeing the creamy oil paint mix and spread on the canvas, giving rise to emotions.

SeaDreams

SeaDreams are expressions of the almost infinite and perpetual dance of the waves, the transparency of the colors, and the vastness of the sea and sky. The paintings are a culmination of the sights, sounds, feelings, and overall atmosphere of tropical waters plus the sensation of diving in the deep blue water with no land in sight.
